Bourbon Street by Night
While I was in New Orleans, I took advantage of playing around with my Nikon D300s a little more at night. I can’t use film all of the time, some clients just won’t have it, so I needed a digital SLR that would work with the lenses I already had for my Nikon FM2. My main other concern was digital noise, which I hate, and editors hate. I love natural light, and try to get away with using it whenever I can… which is usually easier in film because film grain is pretty and digital noise is ugly. However, I had been told that the D300s had very little digital noise at 1600 and higher, so that was a definite selling point for me.
(All of these are no flash, shot on ISO 1600, with a manual 28mm wide angle lens. I also did some minor color adjustments because I feel like the D300s has a tendency to shoot on the red side…)
