ILFORD SFX Came Back!

I totally forgot about Ilford SFX 200 special effects black and white film…. so much so that it was apparently discontinued and resurrected since I last used it. Here’s some more info from Ilford:

ILFORD SFX 200 RETURNS. SFX 200 is a medium speed black and white camera film for creative photography. It has extended red sensitivity and is especially suited for use with a filter to create special effects. By using a deep red filter skies can be rendered almost black and most green vegetation almost white. Its unusual tonal rendition ensures interesting results for a range of subjects, including portraits, landscapes, townscapes and architecture.

can you recommend a really good black and white film blog. I'm taking intro to black and white photography at the moment and i need some inspiration.

Filmus Monochromus is a great black and white film Tumblr, but if you are looking for inspiration you should also be looking at the portfolios of great black and white photographers like Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon or Ansel Adams. Here are websites for some of my most favorite photographers that work mostly in black and white:
