Fav films: I shoot only instant film, which includes old/expired Polaroid, Impossible Project, Fuji Pack film, 4x5 sheet film (Fuji & Polaroid) and 4x5 pack film (Fuji and Polaroid.)

Bastian on why he shoots film:

"I love the fact that I can hold the images in my hands and have a look at them. Of course I digitize them to share on the internet but the "real" image is on paper; I can hold it and turn it around. I also love the smell of the wet chemicals after first peeling open pack and sheet film. It’s comparable to opening the wrapping paper on a present. I also love it that I have to handle it carefully, making sure to bring it home safely while after photographing out in the wilderness.


I especially love instant films because I can immediately see what I captured and what effect a specific expired film will have on the final image. They create such interesting which vary quite frequently. It’s always different. Plus, a variation in temperature can produce surreal effects. Instant film helps me create my own lovely world”
