Tom on why he shoots film:

I choose to shoot film because of the simplicity of it, there are settings to get right, but it’s up to you how they work. There is so much going on with digital that you are almost forced to have a certain looking photo and it’s predictable. Film is always unpredictable, you don’t really know how the photo is going to turn out until it has been developed, this adds to the excitement of film! I love it because you can feel the photo being taken, and then loading the next frame on, that is satisfaction in that which you don’t get with any other type of camera. Film feels real and and yours, they’re photos you’ve taken and got right, rather than the camera doing it all for you. Film takes time and practice to get the best shots, because you have to be careful with what you take, it means you don’t become trigger happy, but take time in what you photograph so that you only have a collection of 36 great shots, rather than 360 average ones.

I still shoot film because of pureness of it.”
