Tim on why he shoots film:

"I still shoot film, as I enjoy the analog as much as any new technology. I find film to be a far more rewarding and permanent process when compared to digital; choose all the variables and ‘click’, you’re more or less stuck with the results. I think that alone keeps me coming back. There’s a patience and education required, more thought and creative input at the front end rather than after the fact, I guess that’s what I really enjoy.

I think film tends to portray a scene, person or place in its most real state; a perfect way to convey a memory to a friend, a token of a place visited or a time passed. It seems that most film photos tend to come back just as you remember the scene, person, place or landscape, rather than an over-processed work of ‘art’ that digital processing can sometimes be. Also most cameras I use don’t require batteries for a meter, which means carrying a working camera is simple and reflects the lifestyle I’d like to maintain.”
