sayitsname asked: i shoot with (or have been trying to...) an old Chinon CM-4. the shutter releases and the film advances, but when i took a role to get developed there was absolutly nothing on it, looked exactly the way it did when loading it. my exposure lights work so i know it has nothing to do with the battery... what i'm wondering is if you would be able to tell me if this is a film issue or could there...

EBay Film Camera Find: Kodak Reflex TLR →
Kodak Reflex TLR: starting bid $90, comes with (noninterchangeable) 80mm f/3.5 lens and case, ends in 14 days *While $90 is technically a bit high compared to the eBay deals I usually post, this little guy seems to be in gorgeous condition. Anyone looking for a nice vintage TLR should check it out.

6cmzumquadrat asked: Hi,

I'm a big fan of your blog and also an aspiring photographer. I've just completed my second paid shoot and because of the timing (it was just before X-mas, for an X-mas gift) there are a couple of negatives that are in the hands of the client. When you do a shoot, do you automatically turn over the negs to your client or do you keep them?

All I basically...

I previously posted a link to the photography of Dennis Hopper (who, by the way, I had no idea was a photographer and is surprisingly talented) and then a stumbleupon buddy of mine sent me these. They are so fabulous. Check it out.

krule asked: I've heard a lot of stuff about airport X-rays affecting high speed films or film in general. I heard that carry on isn't as damaging as checking. What's the deal?

shutdownthestars asked: Hey :) Sorry to bother you, since you live in Paris I wondered if you knew anything about French laws regarding street photography? I was in Strasbourg recently, photographing people at the Christmas markets (they were so lovely!) and was told it was illegal, I carried on but was careful about it. I know, I know. You all relied on me for eBay deals and then they just disappeared, and I am very sorry. I keep intending to bring them back but I am just so swamped with work that everytime I sit in front of my computer, I never make to eBay. But, I have made some time to bring you eBay deals just before Christmas… nevermind that I am a Jew, that’s not important. Moving on, I bring...

d1v1d asked: You should leave the aperture ring on the Trip on A unless you are using flash. The meter is pretty good at averaging so your show shots should come out. If you get a red flag in the viewfinder, that means you haven't got enough light for the film speed selected. You can move the aperture ring to 2.8 and shoot anyway if it's not too dark. Highest ISO is 400 though I'm curious if...

silince asked: Hello,

First of all I'd like to say that I love your work and blog. It has really helped me to get into film.

Yesterday I bought a Olympus Trip 35 at the local thrift shop and a National PE-206 Flash.

With it I'd like to shoot snow while it's falling down. So I look up into the snow and the snow falls into the lens. Which aperture...
